We work primarily with students in Southern New Hampshire and Eastern Massachusetts, including the Greater Boston area. We support students in their efforts to research, apply, and gain acceptance to college. Through our work, we have developed a deep understanding of the confusing and competitive landscape that is now college admissions. We provide a number of student-centered college counseling services, from help with developing a suggested college list personalized for each student to offering guidance and brainstorming for writing stand-out college essays.
We are the local choice. Located in Bedford, New Hampshire, Bedford College Consulting LLC is small by design. We work one-on-one with students – and their parents – and can provide help throughout the college search and application process. Both our process and our assistance are highly personalized for each family. We work with a cross-section of students who are targeting a wide range of colleges.
Why Hire an Independent College Consultant or College Counselor?
There are many factors to consider when high school students and their families begin their college search. Families often turn to independent college consultants for help. The results of a 2009 independent survey conducted by the national firm of Lipman Hearne indicate that 26% of high achieving high school students hire an independent college consultant.
High school guidance counselors play an important role in sharing information with students about the college application process. Independent college consultants supplement this work and offer a range of services, additional personalized attention and flexible meeting times after school. We can arrange meetings on a schedule that is convenient for the student to provide encouragement and support on college-related tasks.
When hiring an independent college consultant, do some upfront research, then arrange a meeting and ask questions. The Independent Educational Consultants Association offers these suggestions: 12 Questions to Ask Before Hiring an Independent Educational Consultant.
